The customer
- Minerali Industriali Srl is a company from Italy that offers processing solutions for raw materials from the geological survey to the final realization of the turnkey plant.

The challenge
- White sands in all their forms are essential raw materials for various industries. For their sorting, a very precise and, if possible, loss-free optical sorting is necessary.
- The sorting plant is designed to efficiently and accurately sort high-purity white quartz from a mixed quartz fraction.

Another requirement was double-sided material detection so that greater efficiency could be achieved.
The solution
- Mogensen's industrial-grade MSort AT1213 and MSort AT1223 optical sorters can meet all quartz sorting requirements.
- The sorting machines are process-stable, low-maintenance and enable safe and effective two-sided material detection.
The result
- From the input quality of approx. 85% white quartz and approx. 15% colored foreign rock, a saleable product with a purity of over 99% could be optically sorted in the end.
- Grain sizes in the range of 8 - 20mm and 20 - 40mm are processed.
- Due to the safe and effective two-sided material detection, a higher efficiency can be achieved. With this detection, the material is scanned from both sides in the millisecond range and then evaluated together. The MSort thus makes a significant contribution to the success of this modern processing plant in Egypt.
